MeridianLink Conducts Nationwide Mortgage Lending Survey
Did you know nearly one-third of Americans are less confident in their ability to afford a home today than they were five years ago?
This is just one of the enlightening insights from our nationwide survey of more than 1,000 Americans about consumer behavior and expectations during the mortgage lending process.
We also discovered that:
- Almost half (45%) of Americans shop for other options before getting a mortgage through their primary financial institution.
- More than half (53%) said closing costs and comparatively better rates informed how they selected a mortgage lender.
- Roughly four in ten respondents said their financial institution does not offer any of the following: personalized offers, process support, education, or other types of support around mortgage lending.
